PSWB students in action again!IST 440 students recently did their presentations on their inventions in the Think Center. They did research on their product (technology) and their competitors, made a market and target analysis, sales, risks, etc. They created a business plan and a web site.
1) The Vitality Watch: keeping track of your health - detecting heart attacks, strokes and outer medical problems but providing real time feedback. 2) The Smart Switch: a centralized unit to control the house lights. The panel is placed close to the entrance; it has a plan of the house. By tapping on a specific area on the panel the lights will go on. 3) Lockout: locking your computer with a mouse that does fingerprint recognition/fingerprint ID - topic: secure reliable software.
Looking for work.......In 2017, the Earth Conservancy (EC) was awarded a $200,000 grant through the the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) program to implement a new job training program for local unemployed and underemployed residents, including veterans, in the Scranton–Wilkes‑Barre–Hazleton metro area.
